I got to the privilege of consulting with this bakeshop a while back and they agreed to share their recipe for this best selling sandwich loaf. Today I’m sharing an easy homemade recipe for this wonderful treat for your rolls or sandwich bread.ĭutch Crunch starts out as a soft white bread. They were both excellent and I only ate a half at each sitting (getting beach bod ready:) The next time I think I’ll try their Cuban or Big Lucca… probably both. The Jake Bowen (a Roast Beef sandwich with bacon, swiss, veggies, a really good pickle relish topped with Russian dressing) and the Bensonhurst (a twist on the classic chicken parm with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, broccoli rabe, pesto and marinara on the side). However, finding one to your liking isn’t the problem…its trying to decide on which one. Of note, at this point there is no make your own option. The sandwiches are in the $20 range which may sound pricey, however between the quality of ingredients and size of these nuclear powered subs…#value. There is a vegetarian option and some of the sandwiches do have a veggie option as well. A number are twists on classics, but some are rather unique. Mission’s menu is limited to a dozen sandwiches, three of them simple basics for kids and nine for adults…with very large appetites. It’s pretty awesome and why it hasn’t made its way east till now blows my mind. ![]() When you use a superior bread with high quality ingredients it takes it next level.Ĭhef Brian Tsao wasn’t satisfied with that so he’s taking it to a whole nother level using a Dutch Crunch bread he encountered in the Bay area that he re-engineered ( He used to be at Beauty and Essex and Beat Bobby Flay, so yes, he re-engineered it). You can use high quality ingredients (which they do here) but if you don’t use a great fresh bread…you can end up with a lousy sandwich. ![]()
